A Butterfly Die Cut Card

Another beautiful day here in Ontario but it will be the last one for a few days….rain, snow, and very high winds expected for the weekend and into Monday. Oh well, it was nice having a couple of nice days in a row.

Today’s card was another experiment…..it’s okay but it could use some improvement.

I was in the mood to experiment last week so I took a white piece of cardstock and ran it through and embossing folder and then die cut the butterfly with a Memory Box die. Then I took a piece of blue cardstock; placed it behind the cut out piece; lightly outlined in pencil the shape of the butterfly; stamped some flowers on it; erased the pencil lines and placed it back behind the die cut butterfly. It didn’t show up all that well so the white cardstock was placed on a piece of scrap paper and I took a black pen and carefully went around and around the butterfly to highlight it. The outline of the butterfly was rough because of the embossing so it was not even but still looked better than without it. So then I glued the blue flowered paper in place and added the black body and antennae…which came with the butterfly die. Then the sentiment was die cut twice; glued together to make it thicker; and then glued onto the card on an angle….and then it was all glued to a white care base. Like I said, its okay but I’m going to keep working to improve it.

That’s all for a warm (above freezing so warm for here) Friday, February 22, 2019. Hope you all enjoy the weekend; stay safe and always look for something to be grateful for.

        Cheers

Violet
