For once the weather bureau was correct –
rain and freezing rain was predicted and it came! ….and more tonight and
tomorrow. We are staying put today and maybe tomorrow as well. The good news is
we didn’t get as much freezing rain as they predicted, but definitely got the
rain! Oh well, it is winter still so it is what it is.
I’ve been working on a quilt that I’m
donating to Friends of Rondeau for their raffle….this is the 5th year
I’ve donated one to them….and I’m glad I have something to work on while
confined to the house. It’s still too cold to be down in the lower studio (aka
the basement) for very long. Here is one card that I did get made though.
The flower bunch in the centre is from
one stamp and then the other flowers and leaves are separate stamps. Once they
were stamped I was able to sit upstairs and colour them with pencils and blend
them with gamsol. They were die cut with the matching die. The white strip down
the centre was punched and glued on to a piece of purple cardstock. Then the
flowers were arranged and glued down with the centre one popped up with dimensional
glue dots. (Ignore that little line in the top right...its a bit of glue that is barely noticeable on the card but showed up in the photo) The sentiment is a silver peel-off. Our local scrapbook store is
closing so I have no idea where I’ll be able to buy these peel-offs now. Once everything was dry it was glued to a
light mauve card base and silver peel-off strips were added to the top and
bottom of the dark purple cardstock. Wink of Stella was added to the flowers.
That’s all for a very wet Wednesday,
February 6, 2019.
Cheers
Violet
