Another Frog Card

It’s hard to believe it’s the middle of July already! May and June were cold and rainy and then July tried to make up for it by being very hot and humid. I feel sorry for the farmers. First they were late getting the crops in because the fields were so wet and now they are crying for rain. I don’t miss living on a farm!

Today’s card is another frog card. So darn cute!

I bought a set of 6 dies from Aliexpress and when they came I wasn’t sure how to use them. I thought they were for making decorative edge cards. It took me a couple cuts to realize that they cut at opposite angles….cool! So the cardstock was plain white and were die cut just past the middle on the left; matched a little further down. The star paper is from a paper pack and only the small strip was needed. The top and bottom were then glued to the stars and then it was trimmed down to 4” x 5.25” so it fit on the standard A2 card with a small edge showing. Ink was sponged on the top using a handmade cloud stencil and the bottom was sponged with green. The sentiment was stamped in green using my Tim Holtz stamp positioner to make sure I got a good impression. The frogs were stamped; coloured and die cut and glued on….the top one was die cut again from white foam so it sticks up a bit. The bottom frog was not attached with the extra foam as I wanted the top frog to be the star. The grass behind the bottom frog was die cut and then dipped in green inks to colour….it was from another die set. The little flies are part of the frog set and there are dies to die cut them but I found it quicker to do so by hand. Once they were stamped, Glossy Accents was applied to their eyes and Stickles were added to wings. This really made a difference. They are just glued on flat.

That’s all for a hot Monday, July 15, 2019. I’ll be back on Wednesday with another card.

        Cheers

Violet
