The heat and humidity is back and it brought thunderstorms with it – the unstable weather has the Weather Network changing when the thunderstorms will hit…it seems to change every few hours. Yesterday they predicted thunderstorms every day except one until next Wednesday…today, its hit and miss when we get them!
My cousin…once removed?....second cousin? whatever, we are less than 2 years difference in age so we just call ourselves cousins …has a birthday this weekend so this is the card I made for her. We won’t be seeing her….she lives 300 km away to begin with but she is also vacationing in
I wasn’t
sure exactly what I was doing when I started this card. It’s another ‘use up
those left over pieces’ card. All three of those rectangles are from one very
old paper pack. I cut them down to fit on the green card base and glued them
down and then added the silver peel-off strips down the seams. The canning jar
was die cut out of blue vellum and the edges were further inked with blue ink
and then cut once again out of white cardstock. The butterflies and little dots
were stamped on the white cardstock jar and then the blue vellum jar was glued
on top so the butterflies looked like they were in the jar. Then one butterfly
was glued partly in the jar and partly out so it looked like it was escaping.
The jar lid was die cut from light grey cardstock and was glued on an angle …which
is why the butterflies could escape. The sentiment was computer generated on
white cardstock; die cut with the oval and then glued to a larger oval ofdesigner
paper. I hope she likes it.
That’s all for a hot and humid Friday, July 26, 2019. I’ll be back on Monday with another card. In the meantime, try to do a random act of kindness; enjoy a senseless scene of beauty; and spread kindness wherever you go.
Cheers
Violet
