911 Anniversary and a Heat Warning and a Card

           

        Today is the anniversary of one of the saddest days of my life – the 911 tragedy. My heart breaks for all those innocent people killed and the suffering of their families. Will the world never learn? So sad.

         Heat warning? In September? Yup, that’s what we are having. Yesterday the temperatures started rising and they predicted it would end up feeling like it was in the 90F and they were right. It’s still hot and humid today and right now we are having a thunderstorm, although not a very severe one. Our crazy weather continues.

        Yesterday was my oldest daughter’s birthday. Here is the card I sent her.

         The background is alcohol ink on some cheap photo paper that was just lying on my desk. I have no idea why it was there and I had no idea if alcohol ink would work on it…but it did…it’s not as vibrant as glossy cardstock but it was still pretty. The dragonfly stamp is from Stampendous….my all-time favourite dragonfly stamp. The curvy label and stamp are from Aliexpress. The birthday greeting is a peel-off. It was mounted on black cardstock and then onto a light green one….which picks up the light green in the background ….it does in real life but not so much in the photo.
