It’s a sunny but with a bit of a cool wind blowing here today but it could get into the high 50’s for a few hours this weekend. We went out and finished up the fall clean-up this morning. It was nice to get that done….. but not as much fun as the planting in the spring.
I’ve been trying to organize my stamps and dies
but nothing is really working as well as I hoped. Bottom line is I have more
supplies than I have storage for but I hate to get rid of anything because as
soon as I do, I’ll need it. If you have any good storage tips, feel free to
post them in the comments.
Today’s card features Tim Holtz’ ‘Merry Moose’ die. Love this die – that moose is so ‘Canadian’. Here’s the first card I made with it.
Some trees come with the set but I didn’t use them on this card. Instead I die cut (unbranded die) that line of trees from a piece of cardstock that I painted. I had some very dull grey cardstock and wasn’t using it so I painted it with ordinary acrylic paint. It turned out so well I do believe I’ll paint some more. This was the last bit for this batch. The sky background is from the stash. I simply hand cut the hill from white cardstock and added some snow drifts in light blue…they are hard to see in the photo but they are there.
The moose was die cut twice – once from brown Kraft cardstock and once from some bits of wallpaper samples someone gave me. I almost threw these out a few weeks ago but instead tossed them back into my stash ……and sure enough they were perfect for the moose. See what I mean about throwing things out – as soon as you do, you need them. The antlers were from another piece of wallpaper. The red halter and neck thing and the bell also come with the set. The greeting is a peel-off. The moose doesn’t have an eye and I keep thinking I should just add one.
That’s all for a lovely fall Friday, October 18, 2019. I’ll be back on Monday with another card – hopefully a Halloween card this time…..but I have a lot more Christmas cards to post as well. Have an awesome weekend everyone.
Cheers
Violet
