Halloween Cards

We just had one of the nicest weekends – weather wise and health wise! It was well into the 60’s and very little wind was blowing. On Saturday we went to Point Pelee National Park to see the art show they were showcasing. They have 26 yurts there and they had an artist in each one with a wide variety of art. There are some very talented artists out there! Sunday was a bit quieter…we both slept in a bit and missed church so we ended up  going for a quick walk through a home show; a longer walk through Paxton’s Bush that is right here in the city; Chinese food for lunch; then a visit with his sister; and ended the night watching our local hockey team beat one of their rivals.

Needless to say Joe is very, very tired today. When he feels well he has a tendency to do too much and he then is tired the next day. However, we just went and did a couple of errands and voted this morning …..its our Federal election …and he then he was free to nap. No napping for me, I’m trying to get some quilting finished and cards made.

Speaking of cards, here are three of the Halloween cards I made this week. I’m posting all three because the backgrounds were all made the same way.

The background was made by pouncing alcohol ink on glossy cardstock. I started off with yellow then went to orange, red, purple, dark blue and black. I wish I had pounced the yellow a little higher but oh well; it’s still kind of spooky looking. The vacant house is Tim Holtz stamp, I think, but not sure. The trees are old stamps from Art Impression. The spider web is from an old Inkadinkado stamp set….I think. I was not careful about keeping packages of stamps and dies so I have to guess at some of them. The two bats are peel-off stickers. The middle card has a shiny gothic peel-off spooky stamp instead of a stamped house and then I added a fence that was die cut from white cardstock and grey ink was swiped across it to make it look old.

That’s all for today. I’ll be back on Wednesday with another card. If you are a Canadian reading this, don’t forget to go and vote!

Cheers

Violet
