A Card from the Stashes

We just a very rainy weekend….more rain in one day than we have had in 117 years! Needless to say there is a lot of flooding in many areas although we are just fine where we live. I prefer rain to snow. Other than the freak snow storm of November 11th, 2019, we have not had enough snow since then to bother shovelling it. Bonus!

My sister-in-law had a birthday just after the New Year and this is the card I made for her.

The background is from a package of something…a friend of mine bought something that came in it and of course she decided to cut off the back and give me the package thinking I could use it in my cards… and she was right! This is a 5 ½” square card which does not cost extra to mail in Canada. The frame is from an old paper pack and it matched the flowers on the background so I decided to use it…but I had to find a similar colour to go behind it – luckily for me I have quite a stash of paper ….like one paper pack from being on hoarders … and found one that matched perfectly. Then I went to my flower stash and found these lovely paper embossed flowers that are stuck on with a dimensional sticker. The sentiment was die cut three times; glued together; sprinkled with white glitter; and then glued onto the card. She liked it so that was good.

That’s all for a mild but damp Monday, January 13, 2020.

Cheers

Violet
