A Birthday Card

It’s another mild day here in Ontario – how mild you ask? – well, mild enough I have spring bulbs popping up! However, unless they are crocus or snowdrops, it might be a little early for them. We had snow showers followed by rain showers followed by snow showers all weekend but the snow only lasted a few hours. It didn’t stand a chance of staying with all the rain and mild temps. However, we are expected to get more snow for several days at the end of the week so we shall see.
Today’s card was another, “wonder if this will work?” card. It was okay. I’ve seen several similar to this on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a try.

I didn’t have any instructions to follow so I did my own thing. I took a piece of white cardstock 4 1/4” x 5 ½” and sliced it from the top corner to towards the right side. The sentiment was stamped while the card was still flat. Then I took that dark dusty orange and cut two strips and added them to the white. Then I placed the green patterned paper with the same colour flowers as the strips behind it. Well that was wasting a lot of designer paper so I cut off the designer paper hidden by the white. Once it was all taped back together it measured back to the original card size. Then it was glued to the matching orangie/red card base – it matches, once again the camera and lighting changes the colour. I found the flower and leaves in the flower stash and decided it was close enough in colour to work so it was attached with dimensional glue dots. It’s okay, not great, but okay. If I remember I’ll post the card I made with the cut off designer paper on Wednesday.
          That’s all for a mild Monday, February-03-20.
Cheers
Violet
