A Birthday Frog

It was a very cold day here in Ontario! We had to go to the post office and do a few other errands….that did not involve getting close to anyone or going into any stores….mostly just dropping things off but I did see one thing that made me laugh. Like I said, it was cold today. Most people had on heavy coats and we saw one fellow wearing his winter coat and hat….and pushing a lawn mower! Only in Ontario I think! We have had enough warm days that the grass needs cutting but then we get a few days of really cold weather again. Anyway, it made me chuckle…..maybe you had to be there.
I absolutely love this frog stamp that was gifted to me. I keep thinking of different ways I can use it. There is no manufacturer’s name on the stamp so I have no idea who made it.

It was stamped on white cardstock and coloured with pencils and blended with gamsol. It was then hand cut. I cut a piece of designer paper from the stash to fit on a green card base and then added the strip across the bottom. I wanted the frog to look like he was coming out of the middle of the card so I die cut a circle out in yellow cardstock. Then I die cut this old Memory Box birthday die out of green cardstock and glued it on but only at the top. Then I positioned the frog where I wanted him and glued him down from his belly up. Then a slice was cut off his one leg so and then tucked into the green circle so it looked like he came from behind. Then the rest of it was glued down and then glued to the background. Glossy accents were added to his eyes to make the shiny and his eyebrows were drawn.
That’s all for a cold Wednesday on April 22, 2020.
Cheers
Violet
