Trains!

This has been the day of good news. First of all the terrible heat wave has cooled off a bit. It’s still hot but not as humid. In fact today a cool north wind was blowing so it was A/C off and windows open. We decided to take the day off…..day off? We’re retired!... Okay, a day away from the house then! We had our first BBQ along the river and it was lovely. When we got home and checked the news, we found out that our Province has flattened the curve enough that the Premier has opened most of it into Phase 3 – which means more businesses are open; playgrounds and splash pads are open, as well as movie theatres, gyms and eating inside restaurants is now allowed. There are still a lot of restrictions attached but at least they can open. We, however, are sticking to Phase 1 rules! We are quite happy staying home most of the time and we will wait to see if there is another wave of cases before venturing out with other people.

Today I’m posting a scrapbook layout. Our youngest grandson loves trains and has since he was a baby. People would tell my daughter that it was just a phase and he would grow out of it….he’s 10 and still loves trains! This is page one.

The photos were done using a digital layout. Then it was mounted on red so it would stand out from the background – which is just two pieces of cardstock cut in half and joined with a black strip at the joint. I made the tracks from other pieces of black cardstock strips. The gear is from a Tim Holtz die. It’s just die cut cardstock that I painted and inked to make it look old and rusty. The engineer and the other elements are downloads from the Internet.         On Wednesday I’ll post page two.

That’s all for a lovely summer day on Monday, July-13-20 20.

Cheers

Violet
