Two Cards Today

Another Friday! Another end of another month! This summer is flying by and yet we have spent most of it at home. However, today we decided to take a trip to the lake and it was good to be out in nature during this trying time. We were told the park store was open so our plan was to buy a veggie burger and eat it at a picnic table…just us. The trouble is the park store was only open to sell ice cream – no grill. So, we had ice cream for lunch; drove around the park several times; stopped for some pictures of birds; and then went over to Erieau for fish and chips. Sometimes you just have to be flexible.

While we were driving around the park I noticed this bench with a weed growing up the middle of it. I had to get a picture of it and added this wording.

Today I’m posting two cards because they are so similar. These are the last two cards using up the left over bits from the 12x12 double sided cardstock….that’s six cards from one piece….scroll back to see the previous cards.

I found some pinkish paper in the stash to cover the card fronts. I had four circles of the designer cardstock left. So, I die cut a piece of white scrap paper the same size as the designer circles and folded it in half and then in half again. I laid it on one of the circles and marked where the folds were. Then I folded the edges in – hence the brown edges. Then I glued it on top of the other circles and then onto the card. Gold peel-off scalloped strips were added around the brown edges and around the one designer circle.  The little rose in the centres are a peel-off that was stuck down and then I used a marker to colour in the flower and stem. Little hearts were added to the corners of one circle set and little flowers to the others…..I like adding these little extra bits. The sentiments are also gold peel-offs. I had one small bit of paper left so I die cut a label and then added the sentiment. That paper is now 100% used up!

That’s all for a lovely July 31, 2020. Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone. Be kind, be patient, be safe.

Cheers

Violet
