We had a very rainy Sunday but today is just a typical Canadian fall day ….sunny but with a cool wind blowing. It was lovely having a walk this afternoon when I was in the sunshine.
I made a rare stop at the dollar store last week and I
happened to see a package of stencils for $1.25 with some very cool designs so
I bought three different packages. When I got home and took a good look at the
packaging it said 3+…. and when I opened them up, each one had 4 stencils in.
Why label it 3+ instead of 4 I have no idea but they are quite nice…weaker
plastic than the more expensive ones but good enough for my use. Here’s the
first card I made using one of them.
The background started out as white cardstock.
The stencil was placed on stop and ink was sponged through the design. Then the
same warm reddish ink was sponged around the edges and lightly into the centre.
There just happened to be a matching card base in my stash as well so it was
simply glued to it leaving a bit of a border. Then I wasn’t sure how to finish
it but then I remembered this wavy die cut I have with sentiments that match
the curve. I seem to be sending out a lot of thinking of you cards during this
pandemic so that’s the sentiment I used. The die cut banner was sponged with
the same warm reddish ink. Then I found a flower and some ribbon that also
matched and adhered them. Of course, this same card could be made using
patterned paper but using a stencil is so much fun.
That’s all for a sunny Monday, October 5, 2020.
Cheers
Violet
