We are definitely in winter weather now. We had a bit of snow yesterday but it melted by noon today….tomorrow is going to be another story – lots of snow predicted! I went and got groceries and picked up books from the library – thankfully we can order books online and they bag them for us and offer curbside pickup.
I have a set of
dies that I never know how to use! It’s always an experiment and I’m always
quite surprised when one of them works out. I really liked that designer paper
from a 6” paper pack and looked around for some purple to match it. I found the
right colour which is actually the back of an old greeting card…yes, the back.
Do not be quick to throw out greeting cards people donate to you. Sometimes
it’s amazing what parts of them you can use. So, I took this angled die and die
cut out a part of the purple and decided I liked it. The designer paper was
glued behind it and then a fancy label was die cut from another spot of the
purple and a silver peel-off sentiment added. A silver pen was run around the
edge of the label but it didn’t show up very well. So I laid the die on a piece
of black cardstock and drew around it and then hand cut it. The purple label
was then glued on top and it leaves a thin black border. A silver corner
peel-off was added to the bottom left corner. Then it was all glued to a white
standard card base.
That’s all for Monday,
January 25, 2021.
Cheers
Violet
