The bitter cold is getting warmer. It’s still cold but not the bitter cold we’ve been having. Hopefully that is the end of the cold snap for this year.
This was a fun card to make. I like to send my brother, who was in the hospital for a year and now in a nursing home, a card at least once a month. I haven’t in the past had masculine thinking of you cards on hand but I’m beginning to now.
So I sat down at my crafting table and wondered what kind of a card to make him. This is what I came up with.
The background is a new background stamp I just bought and
it was stamped in brown ink on white cardstock. Then I took a left over strip
of dark brown and added it across the centre. I found that stamped label in
with the brown left over stash and it was from the same cardstock as the strip
so I used it too. The owl was stamped with a stamp set I picked up at the
dollar store….lots of individual stamps to make up the entire owl. There was no
die so I hand cut the owl. The branch and leaf were die cut from other sets.
Once it was all assembled it was glued to a brown card base. The hello was die
cut three times from the same dark brown cardstock as the branch and glued
together and then onto the card. I think this was an old Tim Holtz die but not
sure.
That’s all for
a cold but as cold Friday, February-19-2021.
Cheers
Violet
