A Blue Jay Grunge Card

The heat wave has started! Temperatures will be in the 90F range and feeling like over 100F with the humidity. It may be even too hot to go on a bike ride but we shall see. Its usually a little cooler by the lake where the provincial park is where we ride.

Today’s card features the Blue Jay, a very common but beautiful bird that lives in Ontario year round.

I’m trying to use up all the bits and pieces in my 6” packs. I’ve found that they make excellent backgrounds. So for this background I simply pieced together, taped at the back some left over pieces that had the edges inked with dark ink before adhering in place. The circle and the oval were die cut, (Spellbinders) and inked with dark ink. The bird was die cut, stamped and coloured with alcohol markers….from the dollar store and they actually work quite well. The branch was die cut from another die. The sentiment is a peel-off. I deliberately kept the inking splotchy to give it the grunge look so it would be suitable for either a man or a woman.

That’s all for a hot and humid Friday, on June 4, 2021. Have a wonderful, safe and creative weekend everyone and if possible do a random act of kindness….it just may turn a person’s life around for the better.

Cheers

Violet
