One Card, Two Challenges

Seeing as I didn’t post my card until 10:30 pm yesterday I thought I’d get on the ball and get one posted this afternoon – before I forget again. Not much happening around this household today. Too darn cold to go outside for a walk and there is no where that I absolutely have to go so I’m staying put – in spite of the fact I’m having a good hair day! My hair has been weird lately. I’ve always had straight hair but with lots of body. Then about two years ago, it came in curly. What? Curly? Yes, I just wash my hair, brush it and let it dry by itself and all of a sudden I had this mass of curls, especially at the back of my head. Then last fall after I cut it, it came in straight again – well almost straight. It has a bit of a wave and the odd ones still want to curl – which is annoying. I have no explanation for this at all. Any hair experts out there who can explain this?

Today I’m posting a card that qualifies for two different challenges. That doesn’t always work out but this week it did. Stamping Bella provided a sketch and Always Playing with Paper said to use Aqua, Silver and White on a Christmas card. Cool! I can do that.

The stamp is from Stamping Bella and it was coloured with Prismacolor pencils, cut out and glued onto the darker aqua….which doesn’t look all that aqua in the photo but it is. I found the strip behind the dark aqua in my stash which had aqua and white on it (I just bought another package of paper from the thrift store – great paper once again) and I just had to add the silver strip top and bottom. Then I glued everything onto a silver card base, and added some silver snowflakes. I decided it need a small sentiment so I stamped “Warm Wishes” in aqua (which doesn’t show up very well here) and die cut it with a Spellbinders’ small oval scallop. Another Christmas card done!

That’s all from a cold Ontario. Have a great weekend everyone. I may post a couple scrapbook layouts tomorrow so tune in.

Cheers

Violet

  1. Love your Christmas card Violet! I love blue and silver and white for Christmas.

My hair has always been straight as a board. I have quite a bit of it but its very fine. In fact you wouldn't know it from the old pic on my blog profile but it is down past my shoulders now! I told hubby i'm gonna grow it long one more time before it all turns grey! :) My daughters hair was curly , curly up until about 2 1/2 yrs old then the curls went to just the ends of her hair then fell out totally . Now the poor girl has hair as straight as her mom. LOL! Hugs! deb
