I Come for Candy

April showers brings May flowers but October rain just brings pain. It’s been raining off and on, mostly on, for two or three days and its cold and miserable out. My arthritis and brain disorders do not like this cold rain. Fortunately I have a comfortable house to hide in! I haven't been outside in days.

It’s not quite Halloween yet so I thought I’d post another Halloween card.

The background was made using a piece of water colour paper. It had many, many layers of ink sprayed and sponged on. I decided where the moon would go and sponged more yellow there and then used a mask to cover it up while I inked the rest of the sheet.  The old haunted house was stamped and the roof was lightly painted with a redish colour. Then some branches were stamped. The bat is from a Tim Holtz die set. The stars were stamped later on and I’m not crazy about them but once they were stamped, they were staying.

I wanted a fence in front of the house but I didn’t want an black iron fence so I die cut this nice wooden fence and then dipped it in some watered down ink to get that old grungy look. I split it so it looked like it was falling down. The grass was die cut from black cardstock and glued on. I added the piece of black at the bottom to be a road. The monster is from a Tim Holtz stamp set. It was coloured, hand cut and glued on with dimensional tape. When I see it now , the monster looks like he is floating - oh well, its already been delivered so I can’t change it. I doubt the recipient even noticed. The pumpkin is from another Tim Holtz set and the top sentiment was computer generated, the bottom ones from a sticker set. The edges of the panel were distressed and inked with Black Soot Distress ink before being glued to the green card base.

That’s all for a cold and wet Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Cheers

Violet
