The weather has cleared up now, but we had some massive rain and lots of thunder today. More rain tomorrow. I always feel sorry for the farmers when it rains this time of the year. They are trying to get the crops in and it’s not easy if it’s too wet.
The Halloween card I’m posting today was quite a bit of work, but I liked how it turned out.
The background was made with alcohol ink on glossy paper.
Then those squiggly lines were stamped. I drew and hand cut the witch’s
cauldron because I don’t have a die for one - gasp! It was cut from black
cardstock and then I ran white ink pad across it to age it and add hi-lites.
The witch’s dress, legs and feet, hat, broom, eyeball, spider, and skull are from an old Tim Holtz die set. The pumpkin is from another set but no die so I had to hand cut it. Each element has many small pieces, so it was a bit time consuming to get them glued together and the edges inked but I enjoy doing that, so it was okay.
The sentiments were computer generated. The spider’s web was drawn with a thin Sharpie to get a nice straight line and then the spider was glued on. The leaves were also time consuming to cut out, but they were necessary for the fall look. Once I liked the layout and glued everything down, it was glued to an orange card base.
That’s
all for a very wet and stormy Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Cheers
Violet
