Wicked Spirit Card

It’s definitely fall here in Ontario. I’m loving the colours of the leaves as they start to change, and it always makes me to want to start painting again - not enough to actually start painting the want is there! Too many hobbies, not enough time! The fall harvest is in full swing too - lots of squash and apples. I made an apple pie and lots of applesauce yesterday.

 This is another large card - 6.75 x 5.

The skeleton lady was part of a large 4x6 tag but, as per usual, I had to change it. There was another 4x6 card that was green, with a beige centre with a bug on the top. That was it. Boring. So I cut out the beige centre with the bug and set it aside for another project and used the rest of it for this card.

I hand cut the skeleton lady and, once again, inked the edges in black. I wanted part of the skeleton to be outside the oval, so that hat was the obvious choice. It was glued down and then a piece of green with gold dots (also from the paper pack) was glued behind the skeleton. It was then mounted on gold and then on to the reddish paper from the pack which was glued to the card base.

Here’s a thrifty tip. A large rectangle was die cut from the inside of the piece of gold and set aside for another project. No one can tell if you do that, and it sure saves a lot of paper. If I think it may not lay flat, I just add a piece of scrap paper there.

The roses were stamped on the same paper as the background paper. This is a very old stamp set from Paper Wishes. I hand cut them; inked the edges; and added them with dimensional dots. The sentiment was die cut with an old Tim Holtz set; twice out of black and once out of gold. The two black ones were glued together, lined up perfectly; and then they were glued to the gold words but off-set, so the gold looked like a shadow.

So far, I haven’t added anything else. What do you think? Is it okay as is or does it need something else? Let me know in the comments.

Cheers

Violet

  1. I think its ok as is Violet.. Spooky indeed! I love your Halloween card and can totally see why your children may be upset if you sent them a book mark instead of a card... :) Hugs! deb
