Merry Monday Card - Let it Snow

Yesterday was a dreary, dark, rainy day here in Ontario so I scribbled off the three page sketches from blog challenges I follow and head down to my "lower office" (aka the basement) and got to work. I got all three cards done plus a scrapbooking page, did some tidying up down there, did some reading and basically, had a very quiet day. Today two of my grandsons are coming to stay with us til the end of the week. Won't be any more quiet days in this house while they are here! They are well behaved but very active little boys.

So, today I'm posting the card from Merry Monday challenge, which has to be a Christmas card. Here's mine.

I used a stamp from Hot off the Press that I got from Paper Wishes. This is one of their .99 stamps and it came with the word Chilly and the snowflakes. After stamping the main image with Stazon I stamped the small snowflakes with VersaMark and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I inked around the image while it was still in the oval die with some pretty blue ink using a small sponge. I coloured the image with TomBow markers this time. I cut the larger oval to mount it on. I'm still trying to use up my stash of small pieces so that's where the stripe of small snowpeople came from, and the two red stripes. I didn't have a big enough piece of red in my stash to mount the strip on but I did have a long narrow strip so I cut it into two 1/4" strips and taped them along each edge. This is all glued to the background which is a very lightly printed snow scene which is also glued to the card base. I added the sentiment  and the silver snowflakes from a peel and stick sheet. One more Christmas card done!
