Butterfly Birthday Wishes

What a great couple of days I've had. Yesterday we did our usual BBQ and then 31.4 km bike ride at Rondeau Park and we had an unexpected surprise - an adult coyote walked across the road about 15 feet in front of us. So cool. A lot of the park's staff were very envious as they are there practically every day and have never seen one. This was a first for us. I know in some areas where food is scarce, a pack of coyotes have attacked people and even killed some, but the ones here in the park have lots to eat and have never bothered anyone. This one was alone too. Unfortunately we were on bikes so I didn't have my camera with me so no picture.

This morning we were both tired and didn't know what we felt like doing so Joe suggested a picnic lunch along the lake and a walk thru the Blenheim Lagoons and maybe a walk along Erieau. Sounded good to me. There was not many birds, except a few hundred swallows, at the lagoons but we did see some Lesser Yellowleg Sandpipers - another first for us. After our lunch along the lake and a long rest, we decided to make an ice cream break at Rondeau, and another walk or two, before heading for Erieau. We did two long walks but it started to rain again as we finished our snack, so we headed home.

As we were eating our lunch along the lake, Joe turned to me and said, "This is the life, isn't it!". Yup, no question about it!

Today's card is a little different then I usually do - no colouring!

Well, no colouring of the image! I took a piece of white cardstock and sponged some yellow, orange, and red Distress ink lightly in the middle and then yellow over top of it all to blend it in. I stamped the image with Archival ink and added some glitter. The sentiment was stamped with Archival ink too. It needed something else so I ran it thru the Cuttlebug with one of the Provocraft skinny embossing folders, then lightly inked the embossed area. It's mounted on cardstock, then mounted on two pieces of coordinating papers with a ribbon down the centre. The photo does not do it justice. It's actually better in real life.
