A Bellariffic Friday Card - One of my favorite cards.

I don't think November is going to give us a break at all. Brrrrrrr. Hubby still has a bit of a cold - mostly post-nasal drip which makes him cough, and cough, and cough. I finally convinced him to take an allergy pill to dry up the sinus a bit and has helped but this virus is really hanging on. Trust me when I say getting him to take a pill for anything is a HUGE undertaking.

This week Stamping Bella provided us with a sketch. Now, if you follow my blog you will know that I'm not much of a follower - in anything! Not much of a leader either (LOL)! I just pretty much do my own thing. My beloved mother would say "That person walks with beat of his own drum". But once in awhile I follow the rules and I'm glad I did this time. This could be one of my all time favorite cards.

My camera is still making the colours different then they should be and I cannot figure out why. So, this card is actually much, much nicer in person. I stamped the image and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and sponged yellow chalk around the image afterwards. All the paper is from an old 6" paper pack so it all matches. After adhering the stamped image to the first piece of scalloped edge paper (both dies Spellbinders) I decided to stitch around it. Then I cut the yellow piece with the wine design a little longer then the other two, as per the sketch. The bow was tied (it's actually a double bow but the two bows looked pushed together here and then the ends were wrapped around the yellow piece before I glued it to the card base, which was covered in another piece of paper from the same base. I added some Stickles to her dress and the candles and small wine gems to some of the flowers.

Gotta get the camera working better or use my other one!

  2. Violet, what a beautiful card. I'm really into different textures/patterns and I love the color scheme. How do you like the prismacolor/gamsol as opposed to the prismacolor markers or copic markers ? Thank you for visiting and the kind words. emailing you about your question.
