Happy belated Thanksgiving to any of my U.S. readers. I totally forgot yesterday was your thanksgiving. In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October - 2nd Monday in October to be precise. Hope you all had a wonderful day and if you are braving the stores today, Black Friday, well, stay safe!
Another restless night, 3rd in a row. Hate it when I go right off to sleep and wake up about 1:00 or so and think it's morning! Long nights make long tired days. I did walk down to the nursing home today to see some of the people I missed seeing last week and bought a few bundles of penny sale tickets. Last week at another nursing home I actually won 3 different things. Maybe I'll be luck again this week.
This week's challenge at Stamping Bella was to make a card using one of her stamps and Christmas colours. I liked the sketch at the Always Playing with Paper blog so I used it to create my card. Two for one, gotta love it.
Yup, had no problem following this sketch! I grabbed some left over Christmas paper strips and notched the ends and mounted them on either red or green and set them aside. I ran the white paper thru the Cuttlebug using the snowflake embossing folder and inked the edges red. The image is the mini Christmas ornament and I embossed it with gold embossing powder and then used white pearl Stickles to fill it in so it looks frosted. The holly berries and leaves were filled in with Tombow markers. I die cut it with the Spellbinder round die and then die cut a piece of glitter paper with a larger scalloped die. The sentiment was embossed in red embossing powder and mounted on red cardstock and then glued everything down but the ornament circle - it has dimensional adhesive behind it so it's not flat. It all went together pretty darn quickly actually.
Love all that red and the pretty ornament, Violet! Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday!
