Hummingbird Birthday Card

I love hummingbirds! How can anyone not! We have several feeders in our backyard and last year we got them from spring into early summer and then they disappeared until late summer/early fall. Not sure why the didn't stick around all summer but we found out that a lot of people experienced the same thing last year. Maybe there was so many flowers around they didn't need the sugar nectar. I did get some of the most wonderful photos of them when they were here though so that was nice.

So, I was thinking about hummingbirds and found this stamped image that I hadn't used so I made this card.

Not sure what company made the stamp because it was one I rented from the Paper Pickle when they were renting them out. I stamped it numerous times and didn't use them all. This one was stamped with green ink and them embossed with clear embossing powder. I coloured in the flower and his neck with some glossy paint I have. All the paper is from a 6" paper pack called Madeline by Prima except the brown.
I actually used a sketch! Mojo Monday #273! I'm starting to like sketches actually.

I made a white card base, 5-1/4", so I had to cut down the 6" piece. Then I used the piece I cut off for across the top! Waste not, want not! I mounted it on brown to have it stand out some. I die cut the green scalloped paper with a Spellbinder's die and I used the remaining paper in another card. I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow. All the edges of the paper pieces were inked with brown ink. There is a wee bit of blue chalk pounced around the bird. The flower is from a package from the dollar store I think. I did add the sentiment from a peel-and-stick sheet as well as the corner treatment and, once again, a little piece of left over gold peel-and-stick under the sentiment. I love this paper pack and if I find another one, I'll buy it.

Another Friday, another weekend. Make it a good one!
