Thank You Card

Haven't been anywhere to get into trouble or cause excitement so this will be a quick post. Hubby has been feeling under the weather since he got up Sunday morning, and then we got a phone call that his sister was in emerg again (fallen) so I spent most of Sunday sitting with her while he stayed home, and then the brain disorders attacked. What a week. We did have a very nice but too short visit with one daughter and two grandsons on New Year's Day and it was hard for the boys to not get too close to Grampa - but they did play darts (magnetic ones) with him so that was good.

Yesterday I decided to make some more cloth grocery bags. Hubby keeps saying ours are starting to wear out. Now here's a funny story about the grocery bags. I told him one day that they all should be washed on a regular basis. He decided to do this while I was away quilting one day. Next time we got groceries I opened up my coupon booklet and it was empty. Strange. Then I realized it had also gone thru the washing machine so when we got home I asked him where he put my coupons when he washed the bags. Dead silence. Then he grinned and said, "Well, now I  know what all that stuff was that was floating in the water - it was your coupons"! Oh boy.

So, today I'm posting a thank you card I made - once again using some of the stash.
I joined the two pieces of paper left over from another project and I die cut the fancy strip covering the seam but using my one and only Spellbinder border die, flipping it over to cut both sides the same. The bird was embossed first on the circle. The scallop circle is from the same brown cardstock. The plain circle and the tag were both sponged with various Distress inks. Once assembled I added gems on the bird. Circles were made using Spellbinder dies and the tag was die cut from Sizzix die.

  1. Vi, you have the *best* sense of humour!

Hope Hubby gets feeling better soon, and your SIL too.

Love this card - they're all works of art.

The motorcycle card? Turned into a birthday/anniversary card for my brother- and sister-in-law - both their birthdays are within a couple of weeks of their wedding anniversary. She posted a pix of the card on facebook when it arrived, they loved it so much :) They also enjoy touring by bike.

    Cheers!

  2. Thanks Linda! I haven't figured out how to be able to add a comment to the posted comment so this will have to do. Glad they liked the motorcylcle card. Wait to you see the new funny one I dreamed up. You will love it! It will be posted in a few days.
