Tea Cup Card

Another Friday! I don't know about you but the days, weeks and months seem to be flying by faster then ever. It reminds me of the summer when my youngest daughter was about 15 and she picked up a flyer that was advertising "Back to School" sales and she immediately remarked, "Back to school already. I can't believe how fast this summer went." Then she looked horrified and added, "Oh no. I sound like you. I must be getting old!" Too funny.

Today's card is from the Stamping Bella challenge. She just had a new release today and I sure wish I had extra $$$ in the crafting budget. Joe asked me once what my "crafting budget" was and I told him with a straight face "it varies month to month". He didn't bother asking me for an explanation but just shook his head and walked away.

This time I did some paper piecing. I stamped this Stamping Bella image first on white cardstock, then on blue paper and then the pink and cut each tea cup out. Tedious - especially around the handle. Then I inked the edges of them, folding back the handle to get the entire cut inked. Then I glued them to the entire image lining them up with the stamped image. The little heart was actually on the paper but was not very clear so I went over it with a Tombow marker which I also used to colour the flowers.

Once again I used my new Spellbinders Create a Card dies to get the perfect 1/8" between all the layers of light blue and dark blue and glued them to the designer paper I had added to the card front.

The challenge this week was to use a banner so I cut a strip of dark blue, notched it and added it to the card. It looked blah even after adding the peel-and-stick sentiment so I added strips of gold lines around it. Much better. Then I added the gold gems to the centre of the flowers and called it done.
