A Cut-Away Card

Still sick but slowly getting better. I haven't been down to the basement, (oops I meant lower studio), since last week but I had a few cards done up and photographed so I can still post some. Here is a cut-away card that I quite like.

In with some other paper I bought at the thrift store was some designer paper that was cut 5.5 x almost 4. I decided to use it up instead of filing it in the stash drawer. Because it was not quite 4" I punched across the bottom of it with a Martha S. punch and then punched out another strip in white and glued it behind it. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of light green ribbon and then glued it around the middle and then adhered everything to the base card. The flower is from the jar of flowers I won in a contest and I added the button - which looks orange in the picture but it is actually pinkier in real life - is "pinkier" a word? Oh well, you know what I mean.  I found some polka dot paper in the stash and I lined the inside of the card with that so it shows on the front. I don't mind this one at all. It's actually quite a bit prettier up close.
