Another Christmas Card Done

This morning my speech was the weirdest, funniest and strangest yet! In case you are new to my blog, let me explain. I have two rare brain disorders, trigeminal neuralgia and hemi-facial paralysis, and had brain surgery in 2000, which helped reduce the pain but not all the symptoms. This morning I had a little more pain and pressure then usual, but not bad, but my speech was so bad Joe couldn't understand me at all - it was like someone who stutters every word - at the beginning and end of the word! Each word seemed to have at least 40 or 50 letters in it. Bizarre. But then about 10 minutes later I could speak clear as a bell. Great! I'm going to Aqua Fit. Hold on, another few minutes passed and I couldn't speak clearly again. If someone didn't know me they would think I was putting this on. My speech is quite unpredictable to a point, but has never switched on and off so quickly as today. This went on all morning and I finally decided to give up on Aqua Fit - again! I had to go to the periodontist this afternoon and Joe thought I should cancel and I said no way. I don't have to speak there so who cares. We always go for a Chinese buffet lunch before the appointment too so I don't have to actually order anything. Good job we are so used to the weird speech patterns and we just laugh about it. At one point I said to him, "Okay, the speech is back clear so if there is anything we need to discuss, now is the time!"  He asked if I had to go Henry's Camera shop and I said no everything was working fine. But then we had a short discussion about whether he should carry the spare camera and learn to take pictures of the migratory birds in May (which he has little interest in doing) but the discussion came to a "stuttering" end before he agreed to it.

The gums are nice and clean and the teeth polished and I'm good for another 8 months! I have both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays playing their games at the same time tonight. I can see a lot of channel flipping happening! Joe roots for the Detroit teams ----BOO-OOO-OOO --- so he won't be in the same room with me so it won't matter. I just may go down to the lower studio and do a little creative card making first though.

Last night I made another Christmas card for the Merry Monday challenge at www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.ca - it was a sketch and I actually followed it!

Well I almost followed it. I added the embossed snowflake to the front of the card using the Stampin' Up embossing folder. The rest of the paper is from my stash - which is why you should never throw out those small pieces! I decided to mount them on black cardstock for a little more impact. I don't mind this one. It's actually nicer in person.
