JOY

Brrrrr. What is with this weather this year. Very cool wind blowing thru Ontario which is not pleasant for me to be out and about in at all. Uusually by now we eat lunch in the backyard under the shade of the umbrella but today we had hot barley soup and biscuits in the kitchen.

Yesterday we went to Sarnia and the wind was so cold and strong I could not go for a walk along the water front by the Blue Water Bridge. We did have a delicious Chinese lunch and went for a long walk thru Canatara Park but I miss walking by the water. Darn old brain disorders do not like cold wind on my face! I haven't even stuck my nose out the door today!

I finished up two cards this morning for this week's challenges and then started in on the scrapbooking. The first one is another Christmas card for the challenge at www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.ca

It was a very nice simple sketch and I actually followed it! More left over paper used up on the background. That white sparkly strip was cut from an old Christmas card. I liked it so why not reuse it! The strip of Christmas trees was cut from a 12"x12" piece and they were pretty blah looking after I got it cut out so I ad to alter them. I took a glue pen and on the first tree I added a drop of glue on top of the dots they had and added silver glitter. Next tree, circles and glitter. Next tree - lines and glitter. After cutting out the banner it looked blah too so I added glitter around it. The Christmas package came in a package of about 10 of them that was in with some paper I picked up at the thrift store. Wasn't sure I would ever use them but I hung on to them and sure enough, it was a perfect fit for this sketch. The word "JOY" was a peel-and-stick and then I used silver peel-and-stick lines to go around the rectangle of the trees. Overall, I don't mind it at all.
