The Big Guy Grills

Before I post the card for today, I have to answer a question that was posted on my comments. If you have a question, or a comment please feel free to leave it on the comment section.

The question was, “What is my go to glue for scrapbooking?” Answer - Zip Dry! Zip Dry is my favorite because it gives you enough time to adjust and re-adjust if necessary before drying permanently. I also have some glue runners that I have won in contests and they all work fine but sometimes once they touch paper it will rip the paper if you lift them up so I use them with caution. The Glue Glider Pro is probably my favorite glue runner but the cartridges are so darn expensive that I quit buying them. For my cards I use a glue runner from the dollar store. It says it's acid free but lets face it, it costs a dollar so I question just how acid free it is so I use it strictly on my cards where it doesn't matter if its acid free or not.

Well, it poured rain here about 11:00 in the morning but then the sun sort of came out so I quickly packed up a picnic lunch and we headed out to Wheatley Provincial Park. Once in awhile you have to take a chance on it. There was a report of a Dickcissel just before the park so we stopped to see if it was still there and it was. This bird is a rare visitor to Ontario so it may be our only chance to see it so we stopped and had a good look with it with the binoculars. I took a photo but the bird was a long way into the field of clover and weeds and I was not about to walk into a wet field even though the farmer apparently gave everyone permission to do so. Here’s the best photo I could get with my little camera.

 

 
We also saw about six or seven Great Blue Herons and some Egrets out in the bay but again, too far away for a good picture. But, it was cool seeing so many of them in one spot.

 
Now the card. This is another favorite – and another Stamping Bella stamp called The Big Guy Grills.

                                    

 

I use this stamp a lot. This time I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and then I stamped his shirt on some green checked paper and cut around it, inked the edges in black and glued it on – likely used Zip Dry here too. Squares were die cut with Spellbinders of course and mounted on some striped paper. The little ticket came from Paper Wishes, Hot off the Press and it was glued on with dimensional dots.
