The Big Guy Grills is Paper Pieced

After a busy three days with lots of exercise (another 2 hour+ walk yesterday), today is take it easy day. I hit the lower studio today and got busy making some more Christmas cards - to be posted later on.

The Big Guy Grills – a stamp from Stamping Bella. This is one of my stamps that I seem to reach for all the time. There are so many ways to make a card with this stamp. Here’s one of them.

This time I stamped the image twice, once on Bella’s Bestest white cardstock, and again on the orange checked paper. After colouring the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol, I cut out the shirt from the orange paper and glued it on top of the original coloured image….a paper piecing technique that really works well with this type of stamp.

The stamped and coloured image was then die cut and embossed with the Spellbinder’s square die, then mounted on the dark green cardstock. A pale green cardstock was glued to the card base and then I added two left over strips along the left side. (Once again, they look crooked but they are not – it’s the old camera playing tricks again bit) The ticket stub is a .99 stamp from Hot off the Press (Paper Wishes) and it was stamped with black ink and then I cut around it, and ran black around the edges. It was applied with dimensional glue dots. A good birthday card for the guys!

Not much happening around here so that’s it for today.

Cheers

Violet
