Here’s one of them.
I took a piece of nice heavy 12”x12” cardstock and cut it in
half. I scored it at 6” and then at 3” and folded it. Then I decided it was way
too big and awkward looking so I cut a half an inch of the flat side and top
and then I liked it. In the stash was
that odd blue/grey colored cardstock that I’ve had forever and it didn’t seem
to match anything and then lo and behold it was perfect for this card. The oval
was cut and embossed with the Spellbinders majestic oval and the rectangle was
cut ¼” smaller than the folded part. It needed something else so I found that
pink that looked great with the picture of the birds and the dark oval so I cut
them and glued them on top of the dark cardstock. The picture of the birds
actually came from some note cards that I bought at Dollarama. I bought them
because I wanted the square envelopes for my own cards and there were 15 in the
package for a $1.00 which was a good deal for envelopes. I wasn’t sure what I
was going to do with the note cards but when I was making this card I decided
they would be perfect for an anniversary card. The bow was made with my handy
dandy homemade bow maker and the satin ribbon came from Fabricland when they
were having their closing sale – boo Fabricland! Anyway, I really liked how this
card turned out so I used the other half of the cardstock and made another one
– yes, I made two cards the same!
Here’s the card opened up and the inside of the card.
As I was throwing out the cut up note card I noticed on the back that there was a tiny picture of the two birds so I quickly die cut it out with the Spellbinder’s oval die and stamped the sentiment in grey and glued it on. What a perfect inside label and there was not much left of the note card to go into the recycle bin.
