Another Monday! Another very cold Monday! Another Monday
that is bringing in a lot of snow tonight. But at least I’m around to see it,
even if I don’t enjoy it! It was a pretty quiet weekend around here though. This
constant change of temperature and barometric pressure caused a few problems
for me over the weekend but strangely enough, now that the storm is here, I felt
pretty good today – we shall see what the night brings before I celebrate too
much. We even went for a very cold walk this afternoon down to the library and
back. This is “Family Day” here in
Canada. The idea of it is for
families to have a day off during the week for them to do stuff together. The
schools are all closed, of course, and it is sort of a statutory holiday but
not really; which means some companies and institutions are closed, some aren’t.
We were surprised that the library was open and we got mail today but no
newspaper and recycling and garbage pick-up is delayed by one day. Like I said,
an odd holiday for sure.
Last week I pulled out a stamp that I haven’t used for
awhile. Love this stamp and I should use it more often.
This stamp is called “Betty” and it’s from Art Impressions
and is still available under their Golden Oldies section – but the sentiment
and music notes do not come with it. I add them after and they are all from
different stamp sets. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
I had on my “think first” hat on and picked the wild background papers first
and then coloured her to match. The paper is from a small .99, 6” paper pack
from Michaels. I found the small bits of green ribbon and added them as well
because they matched her dress and the small button. I like things in uneven
numbers. All the squares were cut with Spellbinder dies and layered.
That’s all from a very cold and stormy Monday!
Cheers
Violet
Hi Violet! I hope it warms up soon, it is cold here too, we had snow Thursday and Saturday but we are clear now, let's hope it stays that way a bit! Today is president's day in the US, maybe that is why some things run and don't in Canada,I find several of our holidays coincide with each others:) Love the image on the card, so cheerful and bright (unlike the weather LOL!) I hope you are feeling better:)
