Embossed and Debossed Cards

We had a marvellous day today! It was calling for thundershowers all day so working in the garden was going to be postponed. Once I get started out there I want to be there for hours and not be worrying about lightening or rain. Joe proposed that we drive to Port Stanley (about 1 ½ hour drive) to see the first play of the season at their playhouse. It was called Country Jamboree and featured singers singing the old C&W hits so we called and got tickets and off we went. Lunch out was good at the Roxy restaurant which is right across the street from the playhouse and the show was EXCELLENT. Really wonderful singers and musicians….and (drum roll please - I won the 50/50 draw…but it was the smallest 50/50 ever there I think. We’ve seen the draw be over $300 so it was a bit of a downer to win so little but hey, it was extra dollars in our pockets…but not for long. Before the show we were wandering through some of the little specialty shops and we saw this adorable, rustic old bicycle that had a working clock in one wheel. We both fell in love with it but walked out without it because a) we didn’t rally “need” it; b) the show was starting soon; c) we sure didn’t want to carry it around with us and; d)  we are not impulsive shoppers and like to think things over. But after the show, we decided to go buy it. Our 50/50 winnings – $56.50 and the cost of the bicycle clock with tax $56.45! Oh well, easy come easy go!

On the way home we stopped at two more garden centres and bought even more plants. They are expensive but we love our flowers. It was just yet another wonderful day!

Today I’m posting an embossed and debossed card from the same embossing folder from Hot Off the Press.

This is the embossed card that was coloured with chalk and then I stamped the fancy label and the sentiment and once glued to the card base, I added the gold trim.

Then I ran another piece of cardstock through the same folder and coloured the debossed side using the same coloured chalk; and using the same label stamp, sentiment and gold trim. So be creative and use both sides of your embossing folder. The Frugal Crafter just did a You Tube video doing even more with an embossing folder so go check out her channel – she is excellent.

 Cheers

Violet
