Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers. Hope you are all
having a wonderful day. Canada ’s
Thanksgiving is in October so turkeys are safe in Canada today….always safe in our
house because we are vegetarians!!!
We had another just over an hour cool walk again this morning.
The wind was really strong sometimes and I could barely walk forward….which Joe
found very funny by the way. This afternoon I accompanied my sister to the
surgeon’s for an update on the lump removed from her breast only to find out
there was a wee bit of cancer there as well so now more surgery to remove at
least one lymph node and about 6 weeks of radiation. Darn cancer! So thankful
to live in Canada
so we don’t have to worry about medical bills…all paid for automatically…no
arguments with insurance companies. All prayers for Bette from all religions
are appreciated. She’s a trooper so she’ll get through this just fine.
Today’s card is yet another experiment! It turned, well, okay, I
guess.
This is another old Magnolia stamp, coloured with Prismacolor pencils
and gamsol (still my favourite) and then cut out. The top of the card was
stamped with a Hero Arts stamp with VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.
Then I went over it with some blue ink, wiping any access of the top of the
snowflakes. The bottom of the card is from the stash and I liked the dots and
swirls in it. I ripped the top edge to form the snow bank and then added some
light blue water colour paint along the edge to define it a bit more. The boy
on the sled was attached with dimensional glue dots. The sentiment was die cut
with a Memory Box die and just glued on. I needed to tie in the dark blue of
the sentiment to the top so I punched three snowflakes from the same cardstock
(Stampin’ Up) and glued them on the top. I liked it much better then.
That’s all for a cool, windy Thursday,
Cheers
