Same Technique, Different Result!

BRRRRR. I hate this cold weather even though it came later than normal this year. It was -9C (15F) this morning but got a little warmer this afternoon. We went over to the sister-in-law’s for a visit this afternoon and stopped and bought her some tulips from the florist on the way…..a little touch of spring to brighten the day. It’s pretty cold in my lower studio (aka the basement) so I may have to quilt or colour some images upstairs tonight.

Today’s card is another one using the ghost method. Love how these turn out and sometimes you get surprises you don’t expect – some good, some bad and some just different. I’ll post a “different” at the end.

I can’t remember what inks I used to create this one but it sort of looks like Distress Tumbled Glass at the bottom. The images were all stamped on glossy cardstock with VersaMark ink and then coloured ink rolled over top. The sentiment is a peel-off. It was mounted on light turquoise cardstock that was a pretty good match for the ink at the bottom and then mounted onto some plaid paper that was glued to the card base. I just happened to have a ribbon to tie into a bow that matched the cardstock too – love it when that happens…..and thank goodness for a ribbon stash!

Now here is a sample of “how did that happen?” Not that I don’t like the card but I have no clue to how the background developed.

This card was made exactly the same way as the first card but using different stamps (Inkadinkado). I have no idea how those swirls got in the background. Like I said before, you never know what you are going to get using this method.

That’s all for a very cold Tuesday,

Cheers

Violet

  1. Hi Violet!

Its brrr... cold here too. It was well into the mid 40's F this afternoon but the nights have been sinking well below freezing... not used to that cold weather... Hubs and i need better (warmer) clothes. :) I like these cards... I don't quite understand how you did them... but i think they both are beautiful. They remind of that paper you use that reacts to sunlight...?? I know thats not what you used though... just looks that way... Stay warm girlfriend! I should get back to posting sometime this weekend...knock on wood! Hugs! deb
