Saturday
was a wash-out! We were under a severe thunderstorm watch all day and some areas
were under a tornado watch. We opted to just stay put. I got some more quilting
done; did some scrapbooking and made a couple more cards. Yesterday we went for
a bike ride at Rondeau – they definitely had rain there – and it was one of
those days when it was hot in the sun; cool in the shade. We both had long
sleeve blue jean shirts on which was a huge change from the last few weeks of
hot and humid weather.
Today’s
card is one where I picked up a piece of already die cut cardstock that was in
the purple stash bag and decided I had to use it. Sometimes I wonder why I keep
giving myself these challenges but here’s what I came up with.
This
purple piece was die cut with a Spellbinders die using just the bottom of the
die to cut a fancy edge. The rest of the cardstock is brought up over the die
so it doesn’t cut anywhere else. It’s a hit and miss type of die cutting! The
black was die cut with the smaller of the dies in the same set. The flowers
were stamped with Versamark and white embossing powder and then the inside of
the flowers were coloured in by inking them with a VersaMark pen and then light
purple Perfect Pearls. The ribbon was tied and just glued on. This was all
glued on to the designer paper and then onto black cardstock and then on to the
card base. The label was stamped on black cardstock with VersaMark and white
embossing powder as well – and old Technique Tuesday stamp. I did a quick cut
around each bump and attached it with a dimensional glue strip. The sentiment
is a peel-off. It needed a little more so tiny pearls were added. It didn’t turn out too bad and I have another card
on hand instead of it all still sitting in the stash.
Don’t
forget you are more than welcome to save any cards to your Pinterest account
for future reference. Simply place the curser over the picture until the
Pinterest save sign shows up in the top left corner and enter. This will take
you to your Pinterest account. If it doesn’t work, please leave a comment and
let me know. Thanks.
That’s
all for a lovely Monday – sunny but not hot and humid. A wonderful way to start
the week…. 2016-09-12
Cheers
