A Flip-It Card

It’s bitter cold here in Ontario but tomorrow is supposed to be a bit warmer – still below freezing though – so tomorrow is going to be errand and grocery day…..and then back to getting the quilts finished. Yesterday I pinned three quilts ready to be quilted – my least favourite part of quilting. For the non-quilters reading this, that means pinning the top layer; the batting; and the bottom layer together; keeping them flat and crease free….again, not my favourite thing but no one will do it for me so I do it.

Today’s card meets the requirements for these three challenges:

I made this card for my blogger friend, Deb. You can check out her amazing art work on her blog: http://learningtojustbreathe.blogspot.ca

This is what the card looks like folded, ready to put in the envelope. Ignore the paper clip. It’s just there to keep it together for the photo. This card was made with the Sizzix Flip-It die set but I added the far right part by putting the cardstock over the edge instead of under it so it was not cut off. I made one without it and there was no room for a greeting and I just didn't like it. I picked up this set at the Paper Pickle, our local scrapbooking store, on sale for $10.00. It came with 11 dies so that was a good deal. All the paper is from the stash – as usual.

Here is the card opened up a bit so you can see how the three squares flip open.

The tree and the deer were die cut with Tim Holtz dies. The middle panel is white cardstock that I ran through the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. The one on the right is for the sentiment and greeting.

Here is the card opened up all the way.

These are fun cards to make as long as you are not in a hurry! Yes, they are a bit time consuming but I never mind that. There is a die in the package that die cuts the paper for the flaps so that makes it quicker for sure. The same one fits the inside as well as the outside left flap.

That’s all for a bitter cold Monday, December 19, 2016

Cheers

Violet
