This
has been the wettest summer in years! First it’s so hot and humid you can
hardly breathe followed by a thunderstorm! More rain predicted for the next few
days but we are hoping to get a BBQ at the park in between the storms. We shall
see.
Today’s
card is one I made the other night and a friend of mine saw and it and just had
to have it. She loved it because it was so dramatic so I hope you like it too.
The
image is another free download from the Internet and it was coloured with coloured
pencils; blended with gamsol with Wink of Stella added to the petals and
Stickles to the centre of them.
The
ovals were die cut with Spellbinders Oval dies – one of the first set of dies I
bought many years ago – and the banner was hand cut. The paper is from my stash
as is the bow which I tied myself. The black trim around the yellow plaid paper
was created with a black pen dragged down the edge with an old greeting card
used as a shield and guide. I just leave about a 1/8” edge and pull the pen
down the paper. This leaves a nice black edge that looks like the yellow was
mounted on black.
That’s
all for a sunny; then cloudy; then hot; and then rainy Friday, June 23, 2017.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and remember you never know what troubles others
are coping with so be kind, always.
Cheers
Violet
