I’m
very tired after doing a bit of yard work this morning and I have a quilt guild
meeting tonight. Time for some down time…aka a nap….before the meeting! The
terrible heat and humidity finally broke and we have much more pleasant temperatures
right now. In fact, we turned the A/C off a couple of days ago and opened the
windows. Today is the only day without rain and/or a thunderstorm predicted so
the yard work had to be done today.
I
must have been in a purple mood when I sat down to colour some images because I
have a stack of purple flowers coloured. Here is one of them. This was a free
download from the Internet.
These
were coloured with coloured pencils, blended with gamsol and then Wink of Stella
was brushed on the flowers. Yellow Stickles was added to the centres. Blue chalk
was sponged on around the flowers. I wanted to cut the image using the square
Spellbinders die but it was a bit too small so I just cut around the one flower
on the right and it works just fine. I rather like it sticking out like that. The
scallop square was also die cut with a Spellbinders die. All the paper is from
the stash.
That’s
all for a sunny Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Cheers
Violet
