Pretty in Pink Card

It was another hot and humid weekend with thunderstorms predicted for yesterday so it was a stay at home day – and the thunderstorm came so it was a good thing we stayed put. We did have a nice BBQ at Rondeau Park on Saturday though so that was good. Today we had to go to Windsor for my appointment with the Periodontist; went to Lee Valley Tools and had my camera checked out at Henry’s and then hit the Chinese Buffet for lunch.

We got home and sat on the front porch with a coffee and all of a sudden the wind started blowing very hard and turned cool so we headed indoors and sure enough we had yet another thunderstorm hit us. Man did that come up quick.

I did manage to get a few more cards made yesterday. Here is one of them. This is a computer printed image of a free download from the Internet.

It was coloured with coloured pencils and blended with gamsol. Chalk was pounced around the image. The circles were die cut with the Spellbinders circle dies and the label was die cut with a Little B die. The centre portion was die cut with a lighter pink and then the darker print was used to stamp the sentiment. The butterfly was die cut with a Stampin’ Up framelit….and then I drew in the body and antennae. The background paper is from the stash. The card base is a premade card and envelope from Michaels that I just bought. They had a box of 80 cards in a variety of colours with 80 white envelopes on sale for $10.00. I’m thinking of going back and get another box.

Anyway, once everything was glued down I went over the flowers and the butterfly with clear Wink of Stella to add some shimmer and then dark Stickles was added to the centres of the flowers.

I happen to love flowers and I just went out to my garden to check to see if the downpour damaged anything…didn’t….and snapped a couple photos of my lilies that are blooming. Lilies are one of my favourite flowers. Here are just two of them.

That’s all for a hot and sunny Monday until the thunderstorm hit…June 19, 2017. Oh, and hubby and I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary yesterday. We both feel that marrying each other was the best decision we each made so I think were good together for a few more years yet!

Cheers

Violet
