After
a few days of lovely weather, we are hit with a hot and humid day. This morning
it was 36C (96F) but felt like 40C (104F)….and this will continue for the next
few days….with, of course, some thunderstorms thrown in as well. This was a very busy day for us; many errands; groceries; my thyroid ultrasound; and then quilt guild meeting...and I have just enough energy left to post this card.
Today’s
card was made with the Stampin’ Up stamp set called High Tide……its fairly new
and after borrowing from my friend, I ordered it from our local Stampin' Up demonstrator, The Pampered Stamper. I
just had to have it because it can be used in so many ways…..but it hasn’t come
in yet….but soon! Here’s a thinking of you card I made when I had Jane's set.
The
background was done on water colour paper – the birds and grass are part of the
stamp set as is the water waves – and many more stamps. The lighthouse, also
part of the stamp set, was stamped and cut out and then glued on top. The
sentiment, yes, part of the set, was stamped on cardstock and die cut with the
Stampin’ Up stitched square die and it was glued on. Twine was wrapped around
the card after it was mounted on dark brown; then it was mounted on the piece
of designer paper (from the stash) and then onto a dark brown card base.
That’s
all for a hot and humid Wednesday, 2017-07-19.
Cheers
Violet
