Snowing Again! In fact, it’s been snowing all day and no end in sight
yet. We braved it this morning to go to the arena to get our 21 laps in (about
2.5 miles) but went straight home afterwards before the roads got too slippery.
As we came out of the arena I looked up and saw a huge flock of robins in and
under a tree that had some dried fruit left on it. I bet those robins are sorry
they didn’t fly south this year! There seems to be a few more migratory birds every
year that no longer fly south…several types have been reported in Ontario this year
including the Eastern Bluebirds and Brown Thrashers. They obviously thought
this was going to be a mild winter….wrong!
Today’s card is a soft and delicate looking card….the colours make it just
right to soothe someone.
The image is another free digi one I found on the internet. This time I
printed it out on cream cardstock to see if the coloured pencils worked the
same as on white cardstock – they do. I pulled some paper that matched out of
the stash and die cut them with a Spellbinder’s rectangle die. The soft
purple/pink one behind the image was run through the dot embossing folder first
just to give it some dimension. A Wink of Stella was added to the flowers. The
butterfly image was die cut with a Memory Box die that I’ve had for ages and
then I added a few pinkish gems to some of the flowers. The sentiment is a
peel-off on a oval punched piece of cardstock the same as the dotted embossed
one. I liked how this one turned out.
That’s
all for a snowy Monday, January-29-18.
Cheers
Violet
