A Sweet Birthday Card

Yesterday was the nicest winter day ever – no snow – no rain – no freezing rain – no cold wind blowing. Today all that changed with rain and freezing rain off and on all day. (insert big sigh here) Tomorrow will be more of the same and then a yet another huge snow storm is supposed to hit us on Friday. I found this on the Internet and thought I would share it here!

This is how I feel about winter too.

Today’s card is a sweet birthday card using one of the free digi stamps I found on the Internet.

IT was coloured with pencils and blended with gamsol and then some clear Wink of Stella was added to the flowers. Chalk was sponged around the edges while the image was still in the Spellbinder’s Square die which leaves a nice white border. The banner was hand cut. It’s hard to tell in the photo but both ends are folded under. It’s popped up with a dimensional glue strip.

The background is two pieces of cardstock – a light blue and darker blue – that were cut into four pieces and taped together at the back. Then they were run through a flower embossing folder. To bring some of the pink into the background, a pink ink pad was rubbed across the top of the light blue embossed flowers. Pink embroidery floss was wrapped around the background piece before it was glued to the white card base.
