Embossing examples and more

I had a question of whether or not I emboss my cards - yes, quite often actually but it is usually the background, not the focal image. I have posted a few examples from previous posts.
But before I do that, we went hiking today at Rondeau and although not many birds, we did get a nice shot of this cute House Wren and a Yellow Warbler on her nest.

Fear not, she was almost 15 feet away from us, hidden in a bush. I happened to see her land by the nest or we would never see the nest. My camera has a good zoom lens and I was able to get this shot without disturbing her at all.

And now here are some embossed cards.

Dry embossed that dark brown and then cut it down to the size I wanted.

Heat embossed the dragonflies and then sponged ink over top.

Scrappy backgrounds look great embossed.

Love the woodgrain embossing folder for masculine cards.

Just a partial embossing

Embossed the side, die cut letters and butterfly.

Hope you enjoyed these and I'll be back on Monday with another card.
Cheers
Violet

  1. Violet!!! I SO enjoyed the showing of your embossed cards!! You DO emboss...! I think i was thinking about liquid embossing... not the folders... and you did show some of that too... All of them so pretty! I have a stamp of a black cat and an embossing stamp pad and a little thing of black embossing powder.. and a heat tool... so i'm gonna give it a go.. Now i want to put a crown on the cats head and i wonder if i should not emboss part of the head so the crown will lay nice...?? I don't know .. It will be interesting and may take a few attempts.. We'll see..

That Warbler sitting on the nest is the cutest thing!!!! There are so many little birds around here i don't know the name of... Hope your having a good weekend.. Hugs! deb
