I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend; we sure
did. I’m getting this post in early because we are under a severe thunderstorm
watch. There have been several funnel clouds spotted yesterday and earlier
today so hopefully this storm will not be as bad as they have predicted….and we
don’t lose power.
Today’s card is the one I sent to my daughter for
her birthday which was on the weekend.
The background pieces are water colour paper –
very inexpensive water colour paper too. First I sponged on some alcohol inks
and then splattered on some water; let it sit for a few seconds and blotted it
off with a soft cloth….that leaves those lovely white or light spots. Then the
butterfly was stamped with Archival Ink. The butterfly piece was made awhile
back and never finished. So, time to finish it. I did the same technique with
the bottom piece; cut them to the same size and glued them to a pale mint green
card base. The sentiment was die cut with a Sizzix die with two-sided glue
strips on the back so it was easy to glue it in place. Then the gems were glued
on. My daughter loved her card so that was good.
That’s all for a stormy Monday, July 30, 2018.
Cheers
Violet

What a beautiful brightly colored card Violet....You know i love bright colors. :) We've had glorious rain the last few days and thankfully it did not come in with a bad storm like what happens here alot.. One was a HEAVY down pour and the next was a more slow steady soaking rain.. The temps are down which is a welcome break in the heat but i can see the temps are expected to climb again.. Stay safe and take care ! Hugs! deb
