Well we had three beautiful days in a row here in Ontario . Friday and
Saturday were perfect summer days – hot but no humidity and the A/C was off. We
took the bikes to Rondeau both days and did almost 20km each day. Sunday we met
one of the daughters and her family in London for a BBQ and get-together which
was a lot of fun too….the weather started out being pleasant but it was
starting to get hot and humid by the end of the day so we had to turn the A/C
back on. We are in for several more days of hot and humid weather again!
Today was the last quilting day at the church
until September. This is where we meet to make quilts for kids with cancer and
comfort quilts for adults in our community who have been diagnosed with a
serious illness; for the paediatric ward at our local hospital; the hospice and
many other places that serve those in need. I brought some fabric home to make
some more quilt tops though. It’s important to give back!
Today’s card would be classified as quick and
easy.
The flower is from a Stampin’ Up stamp set and I
placed the stamp in my Tim Holtz stamp positioner to do the stamping because it
has about three layered stamps to complete the flower. I did it on water colour
paper so I could do the background with water colour paint. The sentiment is
from a Close to your Heart stamp set. The squares were die cut with a
Spellbinder’s die. It was then glued to a purple card base and the bow added.
It needed something on the bottom so I die cut a piece of black cardstock using
a Tim Holtz die. Quick and Easy but I like how it turned out.
That’s all for a hot and humid Monday, July 9,
2018.
Cheers
Violet
