A Quick and Easy Card

What a week! Still hot and humid but that’s not the half of it. Last week we called to have someone come to the house to see if they could fix the oven…I knew the oven thermostat needed replacing but it never occurred to me that they no longer made the parts for our stove....but we still had to pay the service call...grrrr. Both the fridge and stove are almond which is no longer available so we had to buy a new set…not in the budge but had to happen. Then the same day our toaster oven died suddenly so we had to add that to the replacement list. We also bought a double bed for the spare room which was already planned. Then came the fun of trying to get the bed donated to a thrift store and appliances picked up by Habitat for Humanity to coincide with the delivery of new items. Ooooh. I’ll be so glad when this is over.

Today’s card is based on a quilt pattern….something new I’m trying out…..and it used up some of the stash….not a lot but a bit.

This designer paper was already in a quilt design so I just trimmed it down and mounted it on white and then the peach…which is pretty close to the colour of the centre top square.. I cut off a piece of the peach and heat embossed the sentiment which is from an old Stampin’ Up stamp set. The butterfly is a 3D one and the wings flutter….a Dollar Tree find. Then it was all glued to a light peach card base. This is definitely a quick and easy card to make.

That’s all for a hot and humid Wednesday, August-08-18.

Cheers

Violet

  1. When it rains it pours.... or so they say... I'm sorry to hear all that happened... It never happens at an opportune moment sad to say..

Our frig is several years old.. Got it on clearance at Lowe's it had a dent on the freezer door... freezer on bottom... hardly noticeable.. a $2500 frig for $250 dollars wow... just couldn't turn it down... It was on their clearance aisle but probably because i was an employee they gave me an extra special deal.. gorgeous frig.. i could never afford one so nice.. Its been good to us but after dragging it CA then to AR i can't help but wonder how many years it has left.. knock on wood...
