A Mixed Media Card

We are having a beautiful spring day…..oh wait, its November!  Well, it feels more like early spring out there today. In fact I even have a few flowers still blooming including snapdragons and one lonely petunia. Tonight and tomorrow is another story – more rain and high winds….definitely November weather. We have been enjoying our walks in the bush most days during this mild spell and it’s been lovely.

Today’s card is a little different than I usually do….once in awhile I have to break the mould…well bend it anyway.

This is sort of a mixed media card I guess. The background was created by taking some plain buff coloured cardstock and slightly inking the edges with some dark redish/wine ink and then stamping some script here and there using the same ink….making some lighter and some darker in areas and only using bit of the stamp each time. Then I took some purple cardstock and die cut that leaf branch – Stampin’ Up die - and placed a hot pink cardstock behind it. The sentiment was heat embossed in gold. I sponged some of that same redish/wine ink around the petals to form a shadow. The leaves behind the flower were die cut with another Stampin’ Up die and the flower came from the dollar store. The little bow came from a bag of odds and ends from the thrift store. I liked how it turned out and I may have to break the mould a few more times!

          That’s all for a beautiful…for now…Monday, November 5, 2018.

Cheers

Violet
